Warsaw based Zimmer has cut more jobs. The job cuts were part of a reorganization that began in December, and the company hasn’t said how many people have lost their positions. Company officials says the goal is to reduce operating costs while funnelling more money into research and development.
In a document filed with the SEC on Feb. 25, the company said it employed more than 8,800 worldwide, including more than 1,500 in Warsaw, as of Dec. 31. In a similar filing exactly one year earlier, the company claimed more than 8,200 workers worldwide and more than 1,600 in Warsaw.
