IlluminOss Medical finds $4M financing (Mass High Tech)

IlluminOss Medical Inc., a medical device firm in East Providence, R.I., has taken in a $4 million debt financing round, the company noted in aregulatory filing.

The financing consists of debt, as well as options and warrants. Reached by phone, company president and CEO Scott Rader had no comment on the funding at this time.

IlluminOss develops its Photodynamic Bone Stabilization System used in stabilizing and treating bone fractures. The photodynamic polymer system is intended to replace traditional screws, plates and pins used to stabilize fractured bones. It has been approved in Europe for use in low load bearing bones.

Founded in 2007, IlluminOss is backed by Foundation Medical Partners, New Leaf Venture Partners and Mieza Capital.
