A 5-year-old New Jersey-based orthopedics company is relocating its headquarters to Warsaw.
Nextremity Solutions chose the community because of its concentration of orthopedic businesses and its talent pool, Chief Financial Officer Frank Patton said.
The company, which was created to help turn orthopedic surgeons’ innovations into marketable products, obtained an addition $10 million in private-equity funding in July, an announcement by the Kosciusko Economic Devopment Corp said.
The corporate staff will number 15 people at the onset and will be the center of management, marketing, financial and sales functions for the company. CEO Rod Mayer is no stranger to Warsaw, having worked in a number of orthopedic companies there, most recently as the CEO of DePalma Orthopedics.
Nextremity specializes in small joint products such as its Nextra medical device to correct hammer toe. The company also has a line called Precision Ready Systems that includes precision screws and staples. The company contracts out manufacturing, and its research and development operation will remain in New Jersey.
