Integra LifeSciences Holding Corporation, based in Plainsboro, New Jersey, has acquired the product portfolio of Metasurg. The portfolio includes the DigiFuse Cannulated Intramedullary Fusion System, MemoFix Super Elastic Nitinol Staple System, Ti6 screw portfolio, BioMotion 1st MPJ Hemi System and TruArch Subtalar Implant System. Metasurg was founded in 2005 in Houston, Texas.

Integra officials say that the addition of Metasurg’s product portfolio will enhance Integra’s lower extremity product offerings. It will also offer an opportunity to distribute a biologic allograft derived from human placental tissue for wound care called BioFix Regenerative Biologics.

According to Globe Newswire, Integra had revenues in 2013 of approximately $6 million. The company expects the acquisition of Metasurg’s product line will have minimal impact on profits in 2015 but expects to return to double digit growth over the longer term.
