I started The Bone Factory to fill a need for entrepreneurial surgeons who have innovative product ideas and have no pathway to develop their ideas into products. Website – https://thebonefactory.co/.

The Bone Factory is a bold, agile startup dedicated to helping orthopedic surgeons transform their innovative ideas into reality, outside the constraints of traditional big-company bureaucracy. With our lean and fast-paced approach, we enable the rapid development and prototyping of orthopedic products, helping innovators retain control over their projects and get real-time, unfiltered feedback from experts.

Our journey so far has been exciting. We’re currently engaged with three orthopedic surgeons in the sports medicine, foot & ankle, and trauma specialties, each working on groundbreaking projects that could revolutionize patient care. However, to scale and build the infrastructure needed for lasting impact, we need a visionary fractional CEO to bring strategic leadership and startup savvy to the table.

What We Need: The Ideal Candidate

This isn’t your typical CEO role. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a startup environment—resourceful, resilient, and strategic. While no up-front pay or office awaits, this role is perfect for a driven leader who finds value in taking calculated risks and being part of a purpose-driven mission.

Key Areas of Expertise:

  • Finance: Oversee budgets, projections, and financial planning to ensure financial viability.
  • Management & Corporate Structure: Guide team development and organizational structure, setting up frameworks for growth.
  • Contracts & Legal Compliance: Negotiate contracts, navigate regulatory environments, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Equity & Governance: Manage equity structuring, governance, and the legal frameworks needed to support both early and long-term success.

Engineering, marketing, IP, and sales experience aren’t necessary; our focus is on finding someone with strong operational skills who can drive efficient, compliant, and financially sound growth.
