I already know that you are passionate.

This is a PSA for the many many people in orthopedics out of work or looking for a better role.

Problem

Too many people write on their resume or LinkedIn profile:

  • “I am passionate about innovation in Healthcare Technology”
  • Passionate About Improving Patients’ Lives”
  • “Competitive and driven young professional, passionate about sales.”
  • “I am passionate about helping patients.”

This is terrific, but it’s useless. We are all “passionate”. This says NOTHING about what you can accomplish for a new employer.

Solution

Instead, it would be more useful to write that catches a hiring managers eyes, such as:

  • “I can design and launch new products in just 12 months!” – Show them you’re not just talking; you’re doing.
  • “My marketing campaigns boosted ROI by 35% in sales!” – Numbers talk. Prove your worth with hard data.
  • “I doubled sales in my territory last year.” – Real results make you a real candidate.
