A Charité team in Berlin just published the world’s first dedicated clinical trial of CD19 CAR T-cell therapy in treatment-refractory rheumatoid arthritis in Nature Medicine.
Six patients. One infusion of genetically reprogrammed immune cells. Disease activity dropped in all six. Three were in medication-free remission for up to a year.
That is not another TNF inhibitor with a prettier syringe. That is an attempt to erase the immune memory that keeps destroying joints.
