Implant firm Ascension Orthopedics Inc.has raised $18.6 million of a planned $20.4 million round of funding.
The Austin-based company collected the capital from nine investors, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission .
Ascension, which was founded in 1992, develops orthopedic implants for the shoulder, elbow, wrist, fingers and toes. The company also develops trauma products to treat bone fractures.
In 2008, it completed $21 million Series D round of funding. Seattle-based Frazier Healthcare Ventures was the lead investor.
