What’s the difference between Hiring and Recruiting?

Hiring

Hiring is when a company posts a job online. Maybe on the website or Indeed or wherever. Included is the well-crafted Job Description with all of the essential job requirements. Hiring is transactional, fast and not valued added. You wade through hundreds of unqualified job seekers.

Recruiting

Recruiting is the process of finding the best individual who is doing a stellar job at your competitor, then convincing them to come work for your company. Recruiting is artful, slow and full of value.

Ask yourself…  Is your open position important enough for recruiting or are you just trying to fill a chair?
